Join as a student

If you are a YFU Exchange student hosted in Europe, you now have the chance to attend the biggest event in YFU and meet 400 other exchange students from all over the world.

  • if your HOME COUNTRY is in Europe, you will get an invitation to attend the YES, at a later stage. JUST SAY YES!
  • if your HOME COUNTRY is outside Europe, you will have to apply to become a GLOBAL STUDENT at the YES.

Note: If you have spent the exchange year outside Europe, you may still be able to participate if your HOME country is in Europe. Ask your sending organisation if that is possible in your case.

Signing up as a Global Participant

If you want to join as a Global Participant, you should be aware that:

  • Both your sending and hosting YFU organisations must agree they would like to send global participants to the YES and they have to validate your application.
  • The participation fee for a Global participant is 550 euros (which includes accommodation, meals, intra European travel to the YES and amazing activities).

There is one exception to this rule: If you are a Global participant hosted in Germany your participation fee will be 300 euro, but you will have to cover your own travel to our meeting points in Berlin.

After applying, your application will have to be validated by both your hosting and sending YFU organisations. As soon as your validation is complete, YOU ARE IN!

When you sign up for the YES 2022, you commit to the following:

  • You must respect the Cancellation Policy of the event!
  • You must attend the full program of the event. This means that you have to actively participate in all of the offered sessions and that you may not leave the camp ground during the seminar.
  • You also have to comply with all rules of the camp, which include, for example, restrictions on the consumption of alcohol, as you will still be on YFU program. Even though the YES takes place at the end of the stay, serious violation of the rules can still cause an early return.
  • You are responsible for making sure that you have the necessary documents to enter Germany (passport, visa – check with YFU in your host country!)
  • Food, accommodation and transportation from Berlin to the venue are included and will be arranged by the YES Organisers. Travel to Berlin is arranged through your host country, according to their procedures. The only thing you need is money for snacks and drinks. Please remember to exchange your money to Euro (if necessary) before the seminar. Unfortunately, there is no ATM (money machine) on the campsite.
